All-Inclusive wedding packages in Northern Utah

Every couple deserves music that feels unforgettable. Each package is built around your timeline and your story, so your day sounds the way you always pictured it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Live wedding string music in Utah generally runs between $600 and $2,200, depending on the size of the ensemble and how much of your day you'd like covered.

Our packages start at $600 for a string duo during your ceremony and go up to $2,200 for a string quartet covering your ceremony, cocktail hour, and the beginning of dinner. A string quartet for the ceremony alone is $800.

Every package includes your repertoire and timeline consultation, and there are no hidden fees. Longer bookings, split timelines, and destination weddings are quoted individually, so you only pay for what your day actually needs.

If you're not sure which package fits your timeline, we're happy to walk through it with you.

We serve all of Northern Utah, including Cache, Weber, Davis, Wasatch, Summit, Salt Lake, and Utah Counties. If your event requires us to drive outside of our service range, we will charge a travel fee depending on the distance to help cover the cost of gas. In Idaho and Washington, we serve the areas near Moscow, CDA, Rexburg, Idaho Falls, Spokane, and Kennewick.

Events with split timelines will be subject to idle time fees. For example, if you want us to play for your ceremony from 3:00-4:00PM and then want us to play for your reception later at 6:00PM, there will be a $50 idle time fee per hour per musician.

We do! Availability for larger ensembles may be limited, and solos & duos are our more accessible options for Southern Utah. Travel fees will apply based on the distance (it is an average of 8 hours round trip from Northern Utah), and we do require a minimum of 2 hours of music for that amount of travel. If the wedding is held later in the afternoon, we ask for a $100 contribution toward lodging for the night.

First, we'll start with a Zoom consultation to discuss your musical vibe, preferences, timeline, and logistics. To secure your date, we collect a 50% non-refundable deposit. You’ll also receive a digital service agreement to sign. The remaining balance is due 14 days before your event. As your event approaches, we’ll work with you to complete our song selection form and make sure everything is planned exactly how you want it! Final song selections are due no later than 1 month before the event, at which point a team meeting will be held with the ensemble to discuss logistics and music.

For 1-2 hour bookings it's not at all expected, but much appreciated if you wish to feed us! For 3+ hour bookings, we do ask for a vendor meal to make sure our musicians have plenty of energy throughout the day!

We'd love to play at your outdoor event! Just a few things to keep in mind: our wooden instruments are sensitive to cold, so we can't perform if the temperature is below 60°F. If it starts to rain, we'll need full shelter. For summer weddings, it's best if we can set up in the shade, either under a tree or an umbrella. If your venue doesn't have shade (such as a mountain top ceremony) we can bring our own white canopy.

Yes! Solo violin or cello is available by special request. While we specialize in string ensembles, we occasionally offer solo options for intimate ceremonies or smaller gatherings. Availability is limited, and we’re happy to help you determine whether a soloist, duet, or ensemble best fits your vision, space, and timeline. Please reach out to inquire about availability and custom options.

- We bring our own stands!

- You/your venue will need to provide a chair for each musician.

- Amplification is optional but recommended, and you/your venue will need to provide the microphone.

- We require shade between May-September. If your venue doesn't have trees or a shaded area, we can bring our white canopy tent to set up under!

To reserve your date, we require a 50% deposit, which is non-refundable. If you need to cancel, the deposit cannot be returned. The remaining balance is only due if your event takes place.

If you need to reschedule, we’ll do our best to accommodate a new date that works for both you and our musicians. Your original deposit can be applied toward the new date, subject to availability.

Absolutely! We can send you a personalized quote for any additional hours beyond 3. Playing a string instrument for a long period of time is physically taxing to the body (anything longer than 3 hours is like playing 2 symphony concerts back to back!), so we would ask for at least a 10 minute break between each hour.

Yes! Customization is at the heart of what we do. We work closely with each couple to thoughtfully select music that reflects your style and story, from ceremony selections to cocktail hour ambiance. Whether you have specific requests or prefer guidance, we ensure your music feels personal and meaningful.

Yes! Golden Hour Strings is fully licensed and carries general liability insurance. We regularly perform at venues that require vendor insurance and can provide a Certificate of Insurance upon request.

We typically wear formal black as a quartet. We're happy to match your event's dress code upon request.
